Tomb TT 55 (TT standing for Theban Tomb) is located in Sheik Abd el-Qurna on the West Bank of the Nile at Luxor in the region of the Tombs of the Nobles.
This tomb was being prepared for Ramose, who was governor of Thebes and vizier during the reigns of Amenhotep III and his son Akhenaten.
Perhaps due to the royal court's move to Amarna the tomb was never finished, and as such it gives archaeologists a wonderful opportunity to study the different stages of tomb carving and decorating.
